about

Steve Salazar: Guitar, Vocals
Alex Carillo: Drums, Percussion
Jake Cadena: Bass
With enough funds left over from producing their debut self titled disc, Scumby set out to record their sophomore effort at Melody Ranch studio. A concept record titled, "Miseroth 2...music to accompany your suicide". "I wanted to make a record filled with cold, bleak and dead music.",says Steve. "I didn't really care, even to this day, what other local bands were doing originally. And I most certainly don't care if it doesn't sit well with the heavy metal community. Scumby was known as a dark, heavy group, but the truth is I've always loved sad music. Bands like Godflesh, Type O Negative and Danzig always had elements of sadness in their music which I've always dug. I just wanted to make a cold fucked up record. I think we did just that. You can't be happy all the time, and there are people out there that really go through some bullshit. This album's for them. We never set out to be this meaner than you heavy metal band, but I've been told by some that have heard us after a show, say that we sound pretty scary on stage. I love when we get feedback like that because we really want to make you feel uncomfortable."
